Horia spent two years in a technical university till he finally decided to follow his artist instinct and to search for a meaning and a way of self expressing. Several years later, he got his Bachelor degree in film making and he went for a Master’s degree at Academy of Art University from San Francisco.

     In San Francisco, during his studies, he created several photo series that earned him his first major photography awards: 1st place at International Photography Awards - Editorial/Personality, 1st place for Book proposal at Prix de la Photographie Paris, fourth place at Florence Bienalle, honourable mention in the group exhibition “The perimeter of the world” at Rayko Gallery, 1st Place Winner at Longford art photography - Expressions portrait competition and exhibition and he was nominated for the "Felix Schoeller Photo Award" - Best Work by an Emerging Photographer, for PDN’s 30’s in 2016 and for Forbes 30’s under 30 in Romania.

     His work was seen in several group or solo shows at The Florence Bienalle, Rayko Gallery, Alchemia Gallery, 4x5 Gallery, Espace Beaurepaire, Le Magasin de Jouets Galerie ( during Arles Photo Festival ), Photoplace Gallery, De Young Museum San Francisco, France Cultural Center ( Thailand ).

     Soon enough he got noticed also by magazines, online or printed, and his work was published in Rangefinder Magazine ( editor’s choice ), Forbes Up, Forbes Life, Lenscratch, Lensculture, RedBull, Diyphotography, Elle Decor, Bored Panda, Petapixel and many others.
